SRH vs CSK: Match preview, head-to-head records and pitch report

Sunrisers Hyderabad will have an uphill task, at hand, when they face Chennai Super Kings in match number 33 of the Indian Premier League 2019 season.

SRH have endured three successive defeats and would want to get back to winning ways.

Meanwhile, CSK have been unstoppable as they sit on the top with seven victories to date.

Here is the detailed match preview.

Head-to-head meetings between the two sides

The two sides have met on 11 occasions in the IPL. CSK have dominated these encounters by winning nine matches. Last season, CSK thrashed SRH on four occasions including the qualifier and the final.

SRH batting

SRH cannot remain dependent upon Warner and Bairstow

SRH cannot remain dependent upon Warner and Bairstow

SRH's middle order has been dismal and that has hurt them badly.

The side was forced into bringing Kane Williamson in the last match, but he couldn't deliver.

David Warner has been the top performer in IPL 2019 and Jonny Bairstow has supported him well atop.

The rest of the line-up looks unsettled and that is a cause of concern.

SRH's bowling will be crucial to halt CSK

SRH's bowling looks strong like usual and the introduction of Khaleel Ahmed brought some freshness in the pace attack against Delhi. He will be crucial once again. Meanwhile, Rashid Khan holds the key. Sandeep Sharma and Bhuvneshwar Kumar add the required balance.

CSK batting

Chennai have found match-winners with the bat

At times, Chennai's top order has failed in IPL 2019, but they have always found someone to take the mantle and deliver the goods.

From Faf du Plessis, Suresh Raina to MS Dhoni, the side has plenty of steel in the batting. Their experience has helped them seal close matches.

All-rounders Ravindra Jadeja and Mitchell Santner bring more balance in the lower middle order.

Tahir leads this brilliant CSK bowling unit

CSK's main strength has been the bowling and Imran Tahir looks like the real deal at the moment. He has taken 13 wickets so far and he has been the lethal weapon of CSK. Deepak Chahar and Shardul Thakur will bring in the consistency required.

The pitch could be a tricky one. After some high-scoring matches, the last encounter saw the surface slow down drastically.

Both teams bowl well though and that can determine the outcome. 160 could be par.

The match is scheduled to start at 8:00 PM IST.
