Ashleigh Barty beat Marketa Vondrousova: Here are the records scripted
Australia's Ashleigh Barty put up a commendable performance to beat Czech Republic's Marketa Vondrousova in the French Open 2019 final on Saturday.
With both the women playing their first-ever final, it was Barty, who passed the test of holding the nerves and outplayed Vondrousova in a one-sided final.
As a result, both the women scripted some records and we have a look at them.

How did the match pan out?
The match saw a dominating start from Barty, as she broke Vondrousova twice in the opening four games to go 4-0 up, before the latter broke back to make the tally 4-1.
However, Barty held her nerves to win the opening set 6-1.
The same story was repeated in second set. Even though, it was a bit competitive but Barty edged past Vondrousova 6-3.
Barty's career stats so far
This was Barty's first career Grand Slam. Her previous best performance was in Australian Open 2019, when she reached the quarters.
Notably, her overall win-loss tally reads 208-83, with a win percentage of 71.5%.
This was also her third consecutive win over Vondrousova, as she leads the head-to-head ties by 3-0.

Barty: Sixth Australian women to win Slam in Open Era
Barty became the sixth Australian women to win a Grand Slam in the Open Era, the first after Samantha Stosur who had won the 2011 US Open. Interestingly, she ended 46-year Aussie drought in Paris, as Margaret Court was the last Australian to win here.
Barty switched focus to cricket for a brief while
In 2014, Barty took a break from tennis and started to pursue a career in cricket.
She joined Queensland's T20 franchise Brisbane Heat, where she scored 68 runs in nine matches of the Women's BBL in 2015-16.
She also played a couple of matches in Women's National Cricket League, scoring just 11 runs.
She is also the first-ever cricketer to win a Grand Slam.
