Ranji Trophy: Mumbai set a target of 312 for Gujarat

Mumbai has put a target of 312 runs for Gujarat in the finals of 2016-17 Ranji Trophy.

In the second innings, Mumbai scored 411 runs, with Abhishek Nayar leading the scorecard with 91 runs.

Shreyas Iyer(82), Suryakumar(49) and Aditya(69) gave Gujarat-bowlers a hard time on the fourth day of the match.

Gujarat's Chintan Gaja took six wickets for 121 runs, his career's best figures.

The 2016-17 Ranji Trophy finals are being played between Mumbai and Gujarat at the Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore.

Defending champions Mumbai are playing in their 46th Ranji finals, Gujarat are playing in their second.

Mumbai have lost to Gujarat only twice in the 61 matches played between the two teams and have a upper hand in the finals.

The Gujarat bowlers bowled out Mumbai team on the first day itself.

For Mumbai, Shardul Thakur picked up four wickets while Abhishek Nayar and Balwinder Sandhu picked up three each.

Gujarat captain Parthiv Patel led the team to maiden victory in the finals of 2016-17 Ranji Trophy against defending champions Mumbai.

Chasing a target of 312 runs, Patel contributed 143 runs with a 54 run assistance from Manprit Juneja.

While Gujarat put a strong show on the last day, Mumbai showed lack of discipline in fielding.
