Five unique records held by Hulk Hogan

Hulk Hogan is one of the greatest wrestlers to have ever stepped inside a ring.

Having enjoyed a successful stint with both WWE and WCW, Hogan shot to fame with multiple championship wins, interesting rivalries and unassailable tag-team stables.

In the process, he scripted a number of unique records, as we take a look at some of them.

Legend

Main-eventing WrestleMania for five consecutive terms

Main-eventing WrestleMania for five consecutive terms

There have been a number of superstars who have main-evented WrestleMania.

However, there are only a select number of wrestlers who have done so on consecutive occasions.

Interestingly, Hogan is the only superstar who has main-evented the Grandest Stage for five consecutive years, from WrestleMania 5 to 9.

Notably, Roman Reigns is the only one after him to have done so for four years.

WrestleMania

Main-eventing WrestleMania for record eight times

If the above record of main-eventing five WrestleManias in a row was not enough, here's more.

He also holds the record of appearing in the most number of WrestleMania finals.

Hogan has main-evented at the Grandest Stage on eight occasions, including the first three WrestleManias.

It could have been nine in a row, had he main-evented WrestleMania 4, where Randy Savage stole the show.

Undefeated PPV streak for five years

Winning a fight is always special. However, winning in a pay-per-view is even more remarkable.

And a wrestler becomes a legend if he keeps on winning.

Hogan holds a similar record as he stayed unbeaten in the pay-per-view events for five consecutive years (1985-1990), earning him the nickname Immortal.

The streak ended in The Ultimate Challenge, where he was pinned by The Ultimate Warrior.

Streak

Ending Andre The Giant's 15-year unbeaten streak

Andre The Giant was a great figure in WWE.

As he was leading himself to WrestleMania 3, it was revealed that he was unbeaten for the past 15 years.

However, Hogan till then had managed to hold on to the WWE Championship for three years.

Andre turned heel as he challenged Hogan for the Championship at WrestleMania, where the latter ended his streak.

Following his immensely successful stint in WWE, Hogan switched promotions and joined WCW.

In his debut match, he faced Ric Flair for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship, and even won it.

From thereon, he went on to hold the title for a record 469 days, which made him the longest reigning champion in the history of the promotion.
