Top seeded Saina Nehwal reached the finals of 2017 Malaysia Masters Grand Prix Gold after defeating fifth seeded Yip Pui Yin of Hong Kong.

Saina registered an easy win in the semi-finals, winning the match in just two games 21-13, 21-10. She has also won all her previous matches in just two games.

She will now face Thailand's Pornpawee Chochuwong in the final match.

2017 Malaysia Masters from 17 January

The 2017 Malaysia Masters Grand Prix Gold is to take place from 17 January to 22 January at the Sibu Indoor Stadium in Sarawak, Malaysia. Defending men's and women's singles champion will not be the part of the tournament.

The Indian shuttler faced a tough fight from the teenager, but won the final encounter 22-20, 22-20.

It is the first title win for Saina since her victory at the 2016 Australian Open in June last year.
