WWE: Preview and last-minute predictions for SummerSlam 2019
Written byAyush Gupta ·
WWE's next pay-per-view stop would be SummerSlam on Sunday, scheduled to be held in Toronto, Canada.
Termed as 'The biggest party of the summer', this is WWE's first big PPV after WrestleMania.
While there are star-studded matches lined up, rumors are high that a few matches could be added later.
Thus, we present the preview and final predictions for the matches confirmed so fat.
Goldberg vs Ziggler
Can Goldberg come up with an improvised performance against Ziggler?
It was a couple of months back when Goldberg faced The Undertaker at the Super ShowDown.
However, he was not satisfied with his performance and wanted another match.
Meanwhile, Ziggler started talking trash about Goldberg of late, regarding his performance, which prompted Goldberg to challenge him.
Will Ziggler's conniving attitude be enough to tame the Hall of Famer?
Prediction: Goldberg wins.
Wyatt vs Balor
Will Bray Wyatt's 'Fiend' be up against just Finn Balor?
Bray Wyatt's split personality gimmick of late has caught the eyes of most of the WWE fans.
While he gave a glimpse of a number of personalities, it was the evil 'The Fiend' who chose to show up and challenge Finn Balor.
However, it would be interesting to see if Balor shows himself up, or decides to bring out The Demon.
Prediction: Wyatt wins.
Owens vs Shane
Is Kevin Owens on his way out of WWE?
Kevin Owens' interesting change of character has enchanted most of the WWE fans.
Meanwhile, as Owens believes Shane McMahon is wasting other talents in WWE, he wants him gone or he is himself gone.
It would be interesting to see if Owens can save his career on his own, with Shane having a number of allies on his side,
Prediction: Owens wins.
Stykes vs Ricochet
Is AJ Styles' OC reunion enough to stop Ricochet?
AJ Styles made a predictable heel turn and beat Ricochet for the US Championship.
It happened when he made allies in the form of his old The Club buddies Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson and renamed it The OC.
However, Ricochet is a high-flying performer and should cut Styles' reign short to continue building his name as a big WWE superstar.
Prediction: Ricochet wins.
Trish vs Charlotte
Will The Queen come out on top of The Woman?
Charlotte Flair likes to call herself The Queen, while recently, she believes that she is the queen of all eras.
As a result, she did not even choose to spare Hall of Famer Trish Stratus, who played a huge role in the women's revolution.
While Trish might be The Woman, The Queen's challenge could well prove to be too much.
Prediction: Charlotte wins.
Ember vs Bayley
Is it finally time for Ember Moon to shine?
Bayley has been on a roll ever since winning the SmackDown Women's Championship.
While she is a fighting champion, she chose once an NXT's powerhouse, Ember Moon, as her SummerSlam opponent for the championship.
While Bayley seems confident, Ember is a challenging opponent indeed and would be of no surprise if she beats Bayley for the championship and finally shines.
Prediction: Bayley retains.
Natalya vs Becky
Can Natalya make the Canadians proud by taming Becky Lynch?
RAW Women's Champion Becky Lynch is one of the top baby-faces among the women in WWE currently.
While she is happy to face Natalya at SummerSlam, her naive nature has infuriated the latter as their friendship seems to be their least priority right now.
With a submission match stipulated, chances are Becky could humiliate Natalya in front of her home crowd.
Prediction: Becky retains.
Kingston vs Orton
Is Kofi Kingston's honeymoon period over as WWE champion?
Kofi Kingston defied all odds to become the WWE champion at WrestleMania 35 and is having a great time since then.
However, his honeymoon phase could come to an end when he decided to choose former 13-time world champion Randy Orton as his SummerSlam opponent.
Needless to say, this would be Kingston's greatest challenge to date, but can he overcome it?
Prediction: Orton wins.
Rollins vs Lesnar
Can Seth Rollins be the Beast Slayer again?
However, Lesnar had a sweet payback when he successfully cashed in his Money in the Bank contract at Extreme Rules.
Lesnar has been relentless on Rollins since then, but does Rollins still have enough to slay the beast again?
Prediction: Lesnar retains.
