India won their Davis Cup tie against New Zealand 4-1, after Ramkumar Ramanathan and Yuki Bhambri won their reverse singles draws on the final day.

Ramkumar cruised to a 7-5, 6-1, 6-0 win against Finn Tearney in exactly two hours in the first reverse singles tie.

Later, Bhambri beat Jose Statham 7-5, 3-6, 6-4 in the dead rubber.

India and New Zealand played each other in the Davis Cup tie in the Asia/Oceania Group I competition at Pune.

The Indian team comprises of Ramkumar Ramanathan, Yuki Bhambri, Leander Paes and Vishnu Vardhan.

While Ramkumar and Yuki will be playing the singles draws, Leander and Vishnu will team up with each other for the doubles draw.

Day OneBhambri, Ramanathan give India a winning start

Indian ended the day one of the tie against New Zealand with a win in both the singles matches.

In the first match, Yuki Bhambri defeated New Zealand's number one player Finn Tearney 6-4, 6-4, 6-3.

Ramkumar Ramanathan registered a 6-3, 6-4, 6-3 win against Jose Statham in the second match.

With both the matches in pocket, India lead 2-0 in five match tie.
