India registered a 152 run victory over Nepal in their final league match of the T20 World Cup for the Blind at the Mulapadu Cricket Ground in Vijayawada.

Batting first, India put 289 runs on board at the loss of one wicket.

In reply, Nepal could only score 137 runs in the allotted 20 overs after losing five wickets.

The T20 World Cup for the blind is organized by the World Blind Cricket Council, world body for the blind cricket administration.

It was first held in 2012 with teams from Australia, Bangladesh, England, Pakistan, South Africa, West Indies, Sri Lanka, Nepal and India participating in the tournament.

India emerged champions after defeating arch rivals Pakistan in the finals.

Former Indian captain Rahul Dravid was been appointed as the brand ambassador for the second edition of T20 World Cup Cricket for the Blind.

The world cup would take place from 30 January to 12 February 2017 in India.

Along with hosts India, Australia, Bangladesh, England, Nepal, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka and West Indies will be the participating nations.

The Indian team reached the semi-finals of the 2017 T20 World Cup Cricket Tournament for the Blind after defeating New Zealand in the group match.

India chased the target of 137 runs in just nine overs at the loss of one wicket.

The hosts had earlier defeated Bangladesh, West Indies, England, South Africa, Sri Lanka and Australia, but lost one match to Pakistan.

Having won all their seven matches, Pakistan blind cricket team are on the top of the points table. They are followed by India, who have won seven of their eight matches. Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Australia hold the next three consecutive spots.

India defeated Sri Lanka by 10 wickets to enter T20 World Cup final for the Blind at Lal Bahadur Stadium.

India's J Prakash (115 runs from 52 balls) and Ajay Kumar Reddy (51*) set an unbroken opening partnership of 175 runs.

Ranbir Panwar and Sunil both picked up 2 wickets each while Ajay and Golu Kumar picked 1 wicket each.

India defeated Pakistan in the finals of T20 Blind Cricket World Cup to lift the coveted trophy for the second time.

India chased a target of 198 runs set by Pakistan with a loss of just one wicket; Jayaramaiah scored 99 runs.

It is the second title for the Indian blind cricket team. They had defeated Pakistan in the previous edition too.
