Ashes 2019: Records which can be scripted in fourth Test
England and Australia have been involved in a cracking Ashes 2019 series so far.
All three Tests have been thrilling to watch for fans around the globe.
The five-match Test series is tied at 1-1 at the moment.
Both teams turn their focus towards the upcoming fourth Test.
Here we look at the records that can be scripted.
Joe Root can script these feats in fourth Ashes Test
He needs 55 more to reach the 1,600-run mark.
Root is in line to surpass the likes of Mike Gatting (1,587) and Nasser Hussain (1,581) in terms of career Ashes runs for England.
Root has three Ashes centuries and one more could see him equal the likes of Kevin Pietersen, Graham Gooch and Ian Bell.
Smith can surpass Ponting's Ashes tally
Steve Smith is set to return for Australia after missing the third Test match.
He has scored 378 runs in three innings so far in Ashes 2019.
The Aussie star has scored 2,404 runs in Ashes and needs another 73 more to get past Ricky Ponting's Ashes tally of 2,476.
He is also 96 away from registering 2,500 Ashes runs.
Smith & Warner
Smith can equal Sobers, southpaw Warner can surpass Langer
Smith has already notched two tons in the ongoing Ashes 2019.
Another century in the fourth Test will see him amass his 26th career Test hundred and equal former Windies legend Gary Sobers.
He can also hit his 11th career Ashes ton.
David Warner has 1,599 Ashes runs.
He needs 60 runs to surpass current Aussie coach Justin Langer (1,658).
Broad in line to register this special Ashes feat
Stuart Broad has picked up 109 career Ashes scalps. He needs one more to surpass Wilfred Rhodes and become the third highest Ashes wicket-taker for England. Broad also has 458 career Test scalps and has a chance to increase his tally.
Hazlewood and Cummins can notch these feats
Josh Hazlewood needs one more wicket to register 50 career Ashes scalps. He also requires four scalps to equal Geoff Lawson's tally of 180 career Test wickets. Pat Cummins leads the wicket-taking chart in 2019 (31). He is line to extend his tally.
