The U-19 Indian cricket team beat Bangladesh U-19 by five runs to win the 2019 ACC Asia Cup at the RPS Stadium in Colombo on Saturday.
This is India's seventh title in the continental tournament for junior cricketers.
The low-scoring thriller saw India eke out a win by just five runs.
Bangladesh U-19 faltered while chasing a 107-run target.
India U-19 score just 106 runs against Bangladesh
Dhruv Jurel-led Indian U-19 team managed to score a paltry 106 runs in 32.4 overs.
Only two Indian batsmen managed to get past 30.
Jurel (33) and Karan Lal (37) gave the side some impetus.
The rest of the players failed to get to double digits.
India managed just seven fours and a six in the match.
Mrittunjoy and Shamim share six wickets between them
Bangladesh pacer Mrittunjoy Chowdhury and spinner Shamim Hossain were the pick of the bowlers. They took three wickets each to hurt India's advancements. There were also a couple of run-outs. Bangladesh were disciplined in their efforts with the ball.
Atharva Ankolekar's fifer helps India down Bangladesh
Bangladesh lost wickets upfront and that derailed their chase.
They were reduced to 40/5 and the innings never took off.
However, some crucial cameos in the lower order saw the junior Tigers get close to India's total.
Atharva Ankolekar had different ideas though.
He picked up five scalps for 28 runs and helped India seal a thriller in the end.
India come out unscathed in ACC U-19 Asia Cup 2019
The Indian U-19 team had a successful tourney and came out unscathed.
The side topped Group A after three successive wins against Kuwait, Pakistan and Afghanistan respectively.
India were scheduled to play Lanka in the semis. However, the match was abandoned without a ball being delivered.
India's top finish in the group helped them reach the final.
In August, India U-19 team had won tri-series in England
Back in August 2019, the Indian U-19 team beat Bangladesh in a tri-series finale. India chased down a competitive 262-run target. Two crucial titles in a space of a month will boost India's confidence.
