While he has no plans to step down from the role as of now, he has already taken a call on who could be his possible successor at the club.
Here's who Guardiola backs for the role next.
Arteta, who is currently the assistant coach of City, joined the club in 2016, following the conclusion of his playing career in Arsenal.
"I'm pretty sure [he'll succeed me]. He will have success," said Guardiola.
Guardiola further said that it's just a matter of time before Arteta becomes the next manager of the club, asides lauding his experience of handling players and teams.
"He's got an incredible work ethic. He has a special talent to analyze what happens and to find solutions. We talk a lot about what he believes and how he feels," he added.
Guardiola further stated that he, along with Arteta, shared the same views and mindset.
He also says that while Arteta enjoys a win, during a loss, he's upset and tries to find a solution for it.
"He's an incredible human being, with incredible values about what it means in the locker room to be together, and he is already an incredible manager," opined Guardiola.
As far as Arteta's career is concerned, he has had a good one.
Playing as a mid-fielder, he started his senior career with Barcelona B.
Since then, he has played for six different clubs, scoring 73 goals in 536 matches, while his best tenure was in Everton, scoring 34 in 209 matches.
Unfortunately, he never played for Spain's national team.
There's an old saying that great footballers can hardly go on to become great managers.
While Arteta was a decent player, he cannot be termed as a great player.
Moreover, if a coach of Guardiola's caliber believes Arteta can succeed, the author too stands by the former and backs Arteta for the same.
Furthermore, Arteta could learn a lot under Guardiola before taking charge.
As for City's campaign this season so far, it has been a decent one, as they are currently second in the EPL table, having won three of the five matches, along with a draw and a loss.
They also managed to win their opening game of the UEFA Champions League this season, beating Shakhtar Donetsk 3-0.
As of now, they look as promising contenders.
