1st Test, India vs Bangladesh: Key takeaways from India's victory
India chose not to bat on Saturday after declaring at 493/6.
The Tigers, who were bowled out for 150 in the first innings, looked better in the second.
However, India were on top to bowl them out.
Here are the key takeaways from Day 3 of the first test.
India rule first session as pacers enjoy
Umesh Yadav struck in the sixth over of the day to dismiss Imrul Kayes (6) with a ball that curved back with pace.
In the next over, Shadnam Islam (6) was cleaned up by Ishant Sharma.
Mohammed Shami got into the act and picked two scalps in a quick space of time.
The Tigers were reeling at 44/4 to be pegged back.
Bangladesh show resistance with Mushfiqur and Liton
Liton Das came in when his side was 72/5 post lunch.
The wicket-keeper batsman hit a brisk 39-ball 35.
He looked positive and played some gorgeous shots.
Liton hit six fours in his well tuned knock.
He shared a 63-run stand for the sixth wicket alongside Mushfiqur Rahim.
The runs were scored in no time and helped Bangladesh show some resistance.
Experienced Mushfiqur Rahim solid against Indian spinners
Mushfiqur Rahim slammed a fifty-run knock and was excellent against the spinners.
He looked composed and handled both R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja at ease.
The experienced campaigner went on to add another fifty-plus stand alongside Mehidy Hasan.
Bangladesh were the better side in the second session and Rahim capitalized after being dropped earlier on four by Rohit Sharma.
Bangladesh handle Indian spinners well
Indian spinners Ashwin and Jadeja couldn't control the run-flow in the second session.
Jadeja went on to concede above 3.50 runs per over.
Whereas, Ashwin conceded over four runs per over.
The senior off-spinner got the key wicket of Liton, who chose to play a wrong shot.
However, Bangladesh countered the spinners well to gain confidence.
Dominating India get on top after Tea
India were on top post Tea after Umesh Yadav broke the stand between Rahim and Mehidy. He cleaned up the latter to leave the Tigers reeling at 194/7. From there on, India got the job done easily to claim a victory.
