The venues of the opening and third T20I between hosts India and visitors Windies have been swapped, owing to security issues, raised by the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA).
As a result, the opening T20I, on December 6, would now be held in Hyderabad, while Mumbai hosts the third and final T20I on December 11.
Here are further details.
Why this swap?
As per a report, the Mumbai Police refused to provide adequate security on December 6, owing to it being the demolition anniversary of Babri Masjid.
Further, Ambedkar Jayanti celebrations are set to take place on the same day.
Following an official request from the MCA, the board contacted the HCA president Mohammad Azharuddin, who readily considered the request, resulting in this swap.
From where can you buy the tickets?
Although an official confirmation is awaited, it is understood that the ticket holders would not face any problem, due to this swap. As far as the sale of the tickets is concerned, besides the counters at the venues, they can be bought online through Insider.
India coming off a commendable tour of Windies
It was in August when India had toured Windies following the conclusion of the ICC World Cup 2019.
India produced a fascinating performance, as they defeated the hosts 3-0 in the T20Is, followed by a 2-0 win in the ODIs and a 2-0 win in the Tests.
Needless to say, Windies face an uphill task to tame India at home.
