Man Kaur at 101 wins gold in 100m sprint

Inspirational life of centurion athlete Man Kaur

India's 101-year old athlete Man Kaur won a gold medal in 100-metre race at the 2017 World Masters Games in Auckland, New Zealand. It was her career's 17th gold medal.

Ms Kaur finished the race in one minute 14 seconds.

She now plans to compete in other sport events like 200m sprint, 2-kg shot put and 400 gram javelin in near future.

Man Kaur is a female Indian athlete who participates in Masters event around the world.

Aged 101, Kaur started participating in the running events at the age of 93 and has won over 20 medals in her eight year career in the Masters Games.

Last year, she won a gold medal in the 100-metre race at Americas Masters Games in Vancouver.

Masters Games are a multi-sport event held every four years. Governed by International Masters Games Association, the tournament is open for athletes over the age of 35.

After winning the gold, Man Kaur said, "I enjoyed it and am very, very happy. I'm going to run again, I'm not going to give up. I will participate, there's no full stop."
