Sehwag among six applicants for the next Team India's coach

BCCI had so far received six applications for the job of coach of the Indian cricket team.

As per the sources, former cricketer Virender Sehwag, Doddanarasiah "Dodda" Ganesh, former coach Lalchand Rajput, cricket coach Richard Pybus, Anil Kumble and Tom Moody are the six applicants for this job.

The shortlisted candidates will now be interviewed by BCCI's Cricket Advisory Committee.

After Anil Kumble's sudden resignation, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has invited more applications for the post of Indian team's coach so as to give the Cricket Advisory Committee more options to pick up from.

According to a top official in the BCCI, fresh applications would be accepted for the next 7 to 10 days.

The applications submitted to the BCCI will be reviewed by a three-member Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) consisting of Sourav Ganguly, VVS Laxman and Sachin Tendulkar.

The trio will then conduct interviews and will select the best possible candidate for the post.

The press release said that a nominee of the Committee of Administrators will overlook the process to ensure a fair and transparent process.
