Indian cricket found itself in yet another soup after the loss in the finals of 2017 ICC Champions Trophy.
Reportedly, Virat Kohli met the Cricket Advisory Committee members Laxman, Ganguly and Tendulkar, ahead of the finals to convey his 'strong reservations' about Anil Kumble continuing as the Indian coach.
Kumble was supposed to accompany the team to West Indies this week.

Anil Kumble steps down as Indian cricket team's coach
On 20th June, Anil Kumble decided to step down from the post of Team India's coach after holding the position for a year.
Earlier in the day, he decided not to travel with the team for the West Indies tour.
This comes after the reports of 10 Indian players putting forward their reservation on Kumble continuing as the coach.
Should captain have so much of power in coach's selection?
While it is important that the skipper and the coach should be on the same page, another question which arises is how much say the captain should have in the selection process.
On this question, a BCCI's source said, "Can we have a situation where Kohli, no matter how successful and brilliant he is, gets complete charge? Big questions need to be settled."

Kohli clear about Kumble's appointment
According to a source, Kohli was clear that Kumble should not continue as the Team India coach. The source said, "Kohli is very clear about where he stands vis-a-vis Kumble. It seems the relationship is beyond the repair stage, from the captain's side at least."

BCCI to Kohli: Deliver, else face the consequence
After Anil Kumble resigned as the coach of Indian team, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has warned Indian skipper Virat Kohli to deliver on the field.
A top official from the BCCI was quoted saying, "He (Kohli) has to deliver as captain. Otherwise, he had it."
His spat with Kohli was one of the main reasons Kumble decided to quit.
Did Kohli threaten to resign?
New reports allege that Virat Kohli had threatened to resign from the post of captaincy if Kumble would have continued as the coach. He had communicated his decision to CoA Chief Vinod Rai, top officials of BCCI and the CAC members.
Can Kohli have a better relationship with Kumble's successor?
The CAC is in a dilemma regarding Kohli's equation with the new coach.
While it is believed that Tom Moody and Virender Sehwag are front-runners for the job, another question which pops up is 'What if there are issues between the new coach and Kohli?'
Kohli and other team members are reportedly in favor of former team director Ravi Shastri as the new coach.

'Kohli won't have any say on the next coach selection'
Committee of Administrator's chief Vinod Rai was all praises for the former Indian coach Anil Kumble and said that he has done an impeccable job in one year.
Rai also went on to say that Virat Kohli will not have any say in the selection of the new coach.
After Kumble's resignation, the BCCI has extended the deadline for applications for the coach's position.
