A decision to send the World XI team to Pakistan later this year has also been agreed upon in the recently concluded annual meeting of ICC in London. These matches would get an international status.

Three matches to be played in Lahore, amid tight security
Reportedly, the three T20 matches will be played between Pakistan and World XI in Lahore. The dates have not been announced yet.
Pakistan coach Mickey Arthur confirmed the news saying, "We're scheduled to have a World XI in Pakistan in September for three Twenty20 games. So hopefully that starts paving the way for future tours. We can only hope."
Cricket must not give up on Pakistan: ECB Chief
England and Wales Cricket Board chief and head of ICC's Pakistan task force Giles Clarke said, "The desire is to give the cricket-starved Pakistani supporters a chance to see some of the world's finest players in live action. Cricket must not give up on Pakistan."

Terrorism plays spoilsport in Pakistan
Apart from a short Zimbabwe tour in 2015, Pakistan has not hosted any international match since Sri Lankan team was attacked by terrorists in 2009, injuring six members of the team.
Pakistan also did not host any match of the 2011 World Cup.
Since 2009, Pakistan team has played home matches in UAE. This decision will hopefully change things for the team.
