Afghanistan: 43 soldiers killed in week's third attack on personnel
At least 43 soldiered were killed in a Taliban attack on a military base in Afghanistan's Kandahar province today.
At least two soldiers survived the assault in Chashmo area of Maiwand district. Several are wounded or missing.
This is this week's third attack on a security installation.
According to Defence Ministry Spokesman Dawlat Waziri, "There's nothing left inside the camp. They burned down everything."

Terrorists fitted a Humvee vehicle with explosives
Waziri said terrorists had packed explosives on at least one Humvee vehicle and detonated it at the gate of the base.
The Taliban has used a Humvee as a bomb in each assault this week.
After today's attack, the outfit claimed all 60 personnel at the site had been killed.
According to the ministry, 10 terrorists were also killed.
Death toll for the week reaches over 120
Two days ago, Taliban terrorists disguised as cops attacked a police compound in Paktia province. At least 60, including the Paktia police chief and civilians, were killed in the five-hour battle. Over 230 were wounded.
In another attack in Ghazni province the same day, 20 including 15 security personnel were killed.
Today's attack takes the total death toll of this week to over 120.
