Uganda-President plans to ban oral-sex, because 'mouth is for eating'

In a widely televised interview, Uganda President Yoweri Museveni warned citizens against 'unnatural' sexual activities like oral sex.

Saying such practices were encouraged by 'outsiders', Museveni added, "The mouth is for eating, not for sex. We know the address of sex; we know where sex is."

The remarks of conservative leader indicate a broader crackdown on citizens' sexual freedom, mostly targeting the LGBT community.

Ugandan laws tough on LGBT cmmunity

The LGBT community is clearly not a favorite of the Ugandan government. In 2009, a minister proposed a bill, nicknamed as 'Kill the Gays bill'.

As part of it, he demanded death for those indulging in same-sex activities. The bill drew international criticism and was never passed.

In 2013, a toned down version of the bill made 'aggravated homosexuality' punishable with life-term.

Museveni v/s homosexuals: What he feels about them

According to devout Christian Museveni, homosexuals are 'prostitutes'.

Signing the anti-gay legislation he had said, "I have failed to understand that you can fail to be attracted to all these beautiful women and be attracted to a man."

The President said he signed the law after consulting scientists, adding, "They (homosexuals) are heterosexual people but because of money they say they are homosexuals."

Further explaining the reasons for the crackdown on homosexuality, Museveni had cited health hazards.

Speaking of gay oral sex, he had said, "It is not healthy. You can contract STD. You push the mouth there, you can come back with worms and they enter your stomach because that is a wrong address. You can also contract Hepatitis B."
