On 20th August, 2016, a terror attack targeted towards Turkey, killed up to 50 people and left 94 wounded.
According to reports, in a massive outdoor wedding in the province of Gaziantep, the attack was caused due to a suicide bomber blowing himself up.
President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan condemned the attack, wishing the injured a quick recovery.

In a statement that he made on 21st August, 2016, Erdogan called the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria "the likely perpetrator of the attack in Gaziantep."
About the Attack
The suspected suicide bombing took place at a Kurdish wedding as people danced on the street.
Local Governor Ali Yerlikaya told a news agency that the attack occurred at 11 pm in the Akdere neighbourhood of the Sahin Bey district, Gaziantep.
Ambulances were dispatched to the scene immediately and an urgent appeal for blood was put out by the Turkish Red Crescent.

Turkey's Conflict with the Kurdistan Workers' Party
Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) was formed in late 1970s; they initiated an armed struggle against the Government of Turkey in 1984.
The struggle called for an independent Kurdish State within Turkey.

Ataturk airport in Istanbul witnessed a gun and bomb attack which killed 41 people on 29th June; IS militants were blamed for the same.
On 13th March, a suicide car bombing in Ankara killed 37 people.
28 people died in an attack on a military convoy in Ankara on 17th February.

Prime Minister of Turkey, Binali Yildirim, said, "No matter what this treacherous terror organization is called, we as the people, the state and the government will pursue our determined struggle against it."

Erdogan: Gaziantep suicide bomber was 12-14 years old
Turkish officials said that the Gaziantep wedding bombing, touted to have been carried out by ISIS, was carried out by a suicide bomber who was 12-14 years old.
Government sources added that at least 22 of the 51 victims were under 14 years old.
ISIS has so far refrained from claiming responsibility for the attack and has not claimed a single attack in Turkey.
