Since the news of Meghan Markle's engagement with the Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry, was announced, she has been at the center of media's attention.
However, this time she has caught attention over a questionable antic.
Here's what happened.
The UK-based tabloid allegedly accessed certain emails exchanged between Meghan and a friend in which they discussed plans to serve drugs to over 200 guests at the wedding.
In the emails, when the friend suggested Meghan to buy special bags for the weed, the latter replied, "Already ordered 'em. And the teeny ones for the pot that says 'shh'."
A source told the newspaper that Meghan helped in rolling the drugs into joints and placed filters into each before putting them into the party bags. Meghan and Trevor allegedly bought the drug from a staff member of the Jamaica Inn hotel, in Ocho Rios.
The source said that while Trevor seemed to have experience with weed, Meghan seemed "more of champagne and rose girl," and that it seemed she "didn't how to smoke."
However, the source added that it was a part of the wedding theme, and the couple was excited about it.
Meghan's father Thomas Markle also confirmed earlier that drugs were given at the wedding.
Notably, at the time of the wedding, marijuana was illegal in Jamaica. It has since been reduced to a petty criminal offense, carrying lesser consequences. Meghan split with Trevor in 2013, citing irreconcilable differences. Before their marriage, the duo had been dating from 2004-2011.
After the news made the rounds on the Internet, many on social media condemned the news saying that stories that intend to diss Americans are nothing but racism.
One netizen wrote, "The racist roaraway, #Sun continues its disgusting campaign to publicly denigrate black women, today labeling Megan as 'ratchet'."
Many slammed the British media's snobbish attempts of taking down Meghan's image in public.
