Doctor said Chen could only hear sounds of high frequency

Dr. Xiaoqing discovered that Chen was suffering from something called 'reverse-slope hearing loss' or 'low-frequency hearing loss'.

This meant that Chen could only hear sounds of high frequency.

As a woman's voice is usually high pitched than a man's, Chen was only able to hear women.

The condition occurs to one in almost 13,000 patients with hearing problems, according to reports.

Doctor said Chen needed to undergo treatment quickly

Dr. Xiaoqing explained that often stress, fatigue, and sleep deprivation lead to such condition. It may also be genetical. She also said that Chen needed to undergo treatment quickly and is expected to come out with a full recovery soon.
