US man threatens to mass-shoot girls because he's a virgin

A man was arrested in Utah in the US for threatening to kill as many girls as he could in a public place because he is a virgin and single.

He made the threatening statement on a Facebook post recently.

Notably, the accused, Christopher Wayne Cleary, 27, was already on probation for felony stalking and threats towards women.

Here's what happened.

Post

'All I wanted was girlfriend. I wanted to be loved'

Cleary's Facebook post read, "All I wanted was a girlfriend, not 1,000, not a bunch of hoes, not money, none of that. All I wanted was to be loved."

He added that he has never had a girlfriend before and he is still a virgin.

This was the exact reason why he was planning "on shooting up a public place soon".

'There's nothing more dangerous than a man ready to die'

Cleary wrote that he was planning to be the next mass shooter, adding that killing as many girls as he could will make him feel better about all the girls who rejected him. "There's nothing more dangerous than a man ready to die," he wrote.

Officers tracked down the computer's IP address to an apartment complex in Provo, a city in Utah, but couldn't find Cleary.

Thereafter, the FBI and Provo Police Department worked together to track him.

He was arrested outside a McDonald's outlet in Provo.

Following the arrest, authorities interviewed Cleary about the Facebook threats.

Cleary admitted writing those threats but said he was upset at the time and wasn't thinking clearly.

He also deleted the post after receiving threats.

Meanwhile, police told media that they were particularly concerned with these threats because several women's marches were scheduled in the state that day, including one in Provo.

Problems

Cleary said he has impulse disorder, was on medication earlier

Cleary also made suicidal comments while talking with cops.

He mentioned that he has some sort of impulse disorder and had a case worker.

He revealed that he had taken medication in the past.

Cleary gave his phone to authorities to search and they did not find any other threats.

He was then charged with one count of threat of terrorism, a first-degree felony.

The probation office now intends to seek an extradition warrant for Cleary due to these threats, which caused major concern to several agencies in Colorado as the agencies believed he was still in their jurisdiction.
