Woman loves her 'razai' so much that she's marrying it

Cozying up to your razai or blanket in chilly winters is truly an underrated pleasure and we often wish if we could just sleep all through the winters tucked inside it.

However, a UK woman's love for her duvet is quite extraordinary as she has decided to make a commitment to it by symbolically marrying it in a lavish ceremony.

Here's all about it.

Pascale Sellick told media that she wants to marry her duvet because "it gives the best hugs" and has given her "the most intimate and reliable relationship" she has ever experienced.

The 49-year-old artist will be having her wedding ceremony at Rougemont Gardens in Exeter, Devon, on February 10 at 2 pm.

She has also issued an open invitation to the ceremony.

'My duvet has always been there for me'

"My duvet is the longest, strongest, most intimate and reliable relationship that I have ever had. That's because it has always been there for me. I love my duvet so much that I would like to invite people to witness my union with the most constant, comforting companion in life," Pascale said.

"There will be music and a ceremony, laughs, and entertainment," she added.

The wedding ceremony will be followed by a "free wedding party" at The Glorious Art House on Fore Street.

Pascale will also read full vows in front of a fellow artist with no religious affinity and the marriage has been described as 'the most out-there art happening to date'.

The dress code is very casual: Dressing gowns, onesies, pyjamas, and slippers.

How comfortable!

Guests can also bring cuddly teddy bears and hot water bottles if there is a cold wind.

Meanwhile, Pascale has kept the cover of the duvet for the wedding a suspense but revealed her outfit that will include fluffy slippers and a nightgown, which will be complimented by a dressing gown.

She has recruited Anna FitzGerald of WooHoo Art Events as her wedding planner.

"This is the most out-there art happening to date. I'm really pleased to be involved. Valentine's Day can be depressing for lots of people so hopefully, this will lift people's spirits," Anna said.

She further said, "It would be wonderful if people could shake off their English reserve and rock up in their sleepwear for a bit of light-hearted frivolity."
