At least nine people have been killed and 16 injured in a mass shooting outside a bar in the Dayton city of Ohio in the US.
The shooting took place at the Ned Peppers bar. The police confirmed that the shooter was killed at the scene.
This comes just hours after the mass shooting at an El Paso Walmart store in Texas.
"We had officers in the immediate vicinity when this shooting began and were able to respond and put an end to it quickly," the Dayton Police Department tweeted.
Assistant Police Chief Lieutenant Colonel Matt Carper said, "Our people are very well trained for a situation like this," adding it was "very fortunate that the officers were in close proximity."
Police officer Carper said, "At 1:22 am, active shooter situation began in Oregon district."
He said, "Right now, the shooter is deceased from gunshot wounds from the responding officers."
"We have nine victims deceased in addition to that, and we have approximately 16 more victims hospitalized right now in unknown conditions... This is a very tragic incident," Carper added.
Carper also said that they don't know anything about the deceased shooter yet. The Assistant Police Chief, however, added that they were "anxious to discover" a motivation.
He said the police are working on identifying the suspect to "see what possible motivation there might have been." He added, "The suspect was firing a long gun with multiple rounds at the victims."

The Dayton police are also interviewing witnesses to find out if anyone else is involved in the mass shooting incident. The FBI is reportedly assisting the Dayton Police in the investigation.
"At this time, it looks like it might just be one person," Carper said. "As bad as this is, it could have been much, much worse," he said, speaking about the incident.
The latest tragedy in the Oregon entertainment district of Dayton comes less than 24 hours after the El Paso Walmart mass shooting incident in Texas in which 20 people were killed and 26 injured.
The incident also comes less than a week after the shooting at the Gilroy Garlic Festival in California that claimed three lives and left 13 others injured.
