Pervez Musharraf turns TV analyst

Former President of Pakistan, Pervez Musharraf, is back in the public eye and has chosen to relaunch his career as a television analyst.

According to BOL TV channel's Facebook page, retired General Musharraf will be the key protagonist of their weekly show called 'Sab Se Pehle Pakistan with President Musharraf'.

The show will be aired every Sunday at 8 pm.

DetailsWhat is the show about?

Musharraf is currently living in self-exile in Dubai. The show he appears on follows a question and answer format where interviewer is based in Karachi and Musharraf responds to TV anchor's questions from Dubai.

The first episode created a buzz in Pakistan however many were unhappy with the show's format.

According to media analysts, the show will pick up traction in few weeks.

Musharraf is the fourth public figure to get a TV show on BOL: others include Tahir-ul-Qadri, controversial cleric who heads 'Pakistan Awami Tehreek', Shafqat Mehmood, who is information head of Tehrik-e-Insaf party, and Qamar Zaman Kaira, former information minister of Pakistan People's Party.

Is the Pakistan Army promoting BOL Tv?

It's widely believed that BOL TV is funded by the Pakistan army. Journalist Abid Husayn said, "Musharraf's entry suggests that the army's public relations wing is doing its best to improve TV ratings for BOL so that it can be taken more seriously."
