About the incident, Interior Ministry spokesman, Tariq Aryan, said the gurudwara, situated on a busy road of a densely populated city, has been cordoned off. Some Sikh families also resided inside the complex.

At least four assailants were involved
Onlookers heard a blast suggesting that suicide bombers could be present in the area.
Anarkali Honaryar, a senator for the Sikhs, believed at least 150 believers were trapped inside. "We believe four assailants are involved," she said.
Those killed include a child, who was brought to the local hospital. At least seven people were brought to the facility with serious injuries.
ISIL claimed responsibility for the attack
Soon after the attack, Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahed tweeted the group wasn't involved. But the SITE Intelligence Group, responsible for tracking activities of terrorist groups, said ISIL (ISIS) has claimed responsibility. The group informed the same on its media arm, Aamaq.
