Australia has abolished its 457 visa programme which is used by over 95,000 temporary foreign workers, a majority of whom are Indians.

Businesses are allowed to employ foreign workers in skilled jobs for up to four years if there's a shortage of Australian talent under the 457 visa programme.

The 457 programme has been abolished to address growing unemployment within Australia.
