The 2020 Hyundai Verna features a sportier look than the outgoing model, thanks to the wider cascading grille with chrome infused slats, a revamped bumper, and sleek headlamps with angular-looking LED DRLs.
The car also gets electronically adjustable ORVMs, chrome-finished door handles, diamond-cut alloy wheels, and an LED strip on the boot lid connecting the taillamps.
Surely, it looks a lot more premium.
Inside the cabin
Inside, the 2020 Verna features a 5-seater dual-tone cabin with ventilated front seats wrapped in leather and a three-spoke multifunctional steering wheel.
The car also houses a fully-digital instrument cluster along with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment unit that offers Blue Link connected car features.
Other highlights also include automatic climate control, cooled glovebox, and support for wireless charging.
Power and performance
In China, the 2020 Hyundai Verna will retain the same 1.4-liter and 1.6-liter petrol engines that power the current model.
However, the India-specific variant is likely to arrive with BS6-compliant 1.5-liter petrol and diesel engines, considering the new emission norms would come into effect from April 1.
For transmission duties, the car will be available with both manual as well as automatic gearbox options.
When this model will come to India?
As of now, there is no word on the pricing and availability of the new Hyundai Verna in India. However, we expect it to arrive in the country at a starting price of around Rs. 8-10 lakh sometime in the middle of the next year.
Once launched, it will lock horns with rivals like Skoda Rapid, Honda City, and Volkswagen Vento.
