Going by the reports, the 2020 Swift would retain the sporty, compact design of the outgoing model. However, it will come with a restyled front profile featuring a new bumper, grille, and redesigned fog lamp housings.
Apart from that, the hatchback could also get a new set of alloy wheels, electronically-adjustable indicator-mounted ORVMs, and a revised rear bumper.
Plus, it will get a new infotainment system
Inside, the new-generation Swift will sport a five-seater cabin with power windows, a semi-digital instrument cluster, and a power-steering wheel with cruise control.
The hatchback would also get a new 7-inch SmartPlay touchscreen infotainment unit with connectivity features.
Moreover, it will retain the standard safety elements of the outgoing model along with some new features like electronic stability control and hill hold assist.
Power and performance
The 2020 Swift will reportedly arrive as a petrol-only model. It would draw power from a 1.2-liter DualJet petrol engine that can be paired with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or an AMT system.
The aforementioned unit is capable of producing 90PS of power and 113Nm of peak torque.
Further, the new engine would also offer a slightly better mileage over the outgoing model.
Finally, how much will it cost?
As for the pocket-pinch, the BS4 range of Maruti Suzuki Swift starts at Rs. 5.19 lakh and goes up to Rs. 8.01 lakh. However, considering the design and engine updates, we expect the new-generation model to carry a significant premium over its BS4 counterpart.
