Vodafone's recently launched RedX postpaid plan is a premium pack that offers up to 50% faster data speeds, free calling, complimentary SMSes, and bundled benefits worth more than Rs. 20,000.
This limited-edition plan costs Rs. 999 per month and takes on Airtel's popular postpaid plan of the same price. But which one is better for you?
Here's our comparison.
The Rs. 999 RedX postpaid plan comes with unlimited data benefit but with an FUP limit of 150GB per month, 50% higher speed, unlimited local calling and discounted international calls.
In comparison, Airtel's Rs. 999 postpaid plan offers 150GB of high-speed 3G/4G data along with data rollover of up to 500GB as well as unlimited local, STD, and roaming calls.
Vodafone's RedX plan offers free Netflix (Basic plan) for 1-year, complimentary Amazon Prime annual membership, ZEE5 Premium membership for one year, and access to all the premium content available on Vodafone Play.
On the other hand, the Airtel plan comes with a free 3-month Netflix Basic subscription worth Rs. 1,497, Amazon Prime annual membership, ZEE5 Premium membership, and complimentary subscription to Airtel XStream service.
The Vodafone plan also comes with additional benefits such as a free 7-day international roaming pack worth Rs. 2,999, free airport lounge access, as well as discounts on hotel bookings and select Samsung smartphones.
Meanwhile, Airtel provides free handset protection and four add-on connections wherein three numbers can enjoy regular benefits (free calling and OTT) and one add-on can share data connection.
The Vodafone RedX is a special postpaid plan available for a limited number of customers only whereas the Airtel plan is a regular option that can be subscribed by any user.
Further, the Vodafone plan has a 6-month lock-in period and a penalty of Rs. 3,000 will be levied if you unsubscribe the plan before that period. Airtel's plan has no such conditions.
Value-wise, the Vodafone RedX is clearly a more feature-rich plan as compared to Airtel's premium Rs. 999 plan. It gives you decent data usage, free domestic calls, cheaper international calls, free OTT content with annual Netflix and Amazon Prime subscriptions, and other travel-related freebies.
However, if you want to share your connection with your family, Airtel's plan will be good for you.
