Samsung has been working on a lite variant of the Galaxy S8 and it was tipped to be called Galaxy S8 Mini or Galaxy S8 Lite.
However, putting an end to all such naming rumors, the South Korean electronics giant has unveiled the phone and it's called Galaxy S Light Luxury.

Samsung Galaxy S Light Luxury features a 5.8-inch full-HD+ (1080x2220 pixels) Infinity Display with an 18.5:9 aspect ratio.
The phone is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 660 processor clocked up to 2.2GHz, coupled with 4GB RAM and 64GB inbuilt storage that is expandable upto 400GB via microSD card.
It comes with hybrid dual-SIM configuration, runs Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the-box, and packs a 3,000mAh battery.
The Samsung Galaxy S Light Luxury offers a single rear camera with 16-megapixel sensor, f/1.7 aperture, autofocus and can record 4K videos. On the front, the phone gets an 8-megapixel sensor.
In terms of connectivity options, the smartphone offers 4G, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, GPS, NFC, Bluetooth v5.0, USB Type-C and a 3.5mm jack.
Sensors onboard the phone include an accelerometer, barometer, rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, gyroscope, a geomagnetic sensor, iris sensor, RGB light sensor, barometer and proximity sensor.
In terms of dimensions, the smartphone measures 148.9x68.1x8mm and weighs 150 grams.
While the Samsung Galaxy S Light Luxury retains the design elements of Galaxy S7, the phone also borrows some key features from S8. So, in the Galaxy S Light Luxury you get a Bixby button, wireless charging, Face Unlock, and Samsung Pay app.
The Galaxy S Light smartphone can be purchased from Chinese shopping site JD.com.
It is priced at CNY 3,999 (approximately Rs. 42,700) and comes in two color variants - Black and Burgundy Red options.
Additionally, those who pre-order before June 1 can get the phone for a discounted price of CNY 3699 (approximately Rs. 39,500).
