2002 Gujarat Riots
The 2002 Gujarat riots was an inter-communal violence that was started on February 27. The riot between Hindu and Muslim ignited after a train at Godhra station was set up on fire, burning 59 Hindu pilgrims alive. Hindus blamed Muslims for the blaze. The riots resulted in the deaths of around 2000 people with more than 2000 injured and leaving 223 people missing
