The doklam standoff was between the armies of India and China after China attempted to extend a road from Yadong further southward on the Doklam plateau. It was started on 29th June 2017 after Bhutan protested the Chinese construction of a road in the disputed territory. On August 28, 2017, India and China mutually agreed to a speedy disengagement on the Doklam plateau
