Google Workspace gets new features

Google has introduced new features and design changes to its Workspace applications, including Docs and Sheets. Some of these add-ons are now rolling out to users.

Custom building blocks

Users can now tackle Docs-related tasks using smart canvas abilities like 'Custom building blocks,' which lets them create reusable components for common tasks like project templates, checklists, etc.

Calendar invite template, Variables

The calendar invite template allows users to draft calendar invites in Docs through 'Calendar Draft.' Variables allow individuals to pre-define and dynamically insert placeholders.

Emoji voting chips

Another add-on on Docs is 'Emoji voting chips' that allow teams to express themselves and quickly get alignment in a collaborated Doc. Simply use "@-voting chip" to insert your preferred emoji.

Add-ons for Sheets

Google's smart chip data extraction now allows you to pull in information about people, files, events, new date shortcuts, relevant locations, and finance-based entities, into Sheets.
