2 Pakistani JeM commanders among 3 terrorists gunned down
Security forces carried out two major operations in Jammu and Kashmir this week, taking down three Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terrorists—two of whom were Pakistani commanders.
The encounters happened in Udhampur and Kishtwar districts, as part of ongoing efforts to stop militants from setting up local bases.
Operation Kiya, Trashi-I
Operation Kiya kicked off after intel about terrorists hiding in Udhampur's Basantgarh area. Two commanders were cornered inside a cave and tried to escape but were met with gunfire; drones and dog squads helped seal the area overnight.
Meanwhile, Operation Trashi-I happened in Kishtwar's snow-covered forests—marking the fifth such crackdown in just 18 days—where another terrorist was neutralized.
These actions followed earlier clashes that left one paratrooper dead and several soldiers injured, showing how security teams have been working non-stop to track down militants despite tough winter conditions.
