3 Pakistani JeM terrorists gunned down in J&K
Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir took down three Pakistani Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terrorists on Tuesday and Wednesday (Feb 3-4, 2026).
Two were cornered after a 20-hour standoff in a cave during "Operation Kiya" in Udhampur, while the third was tracked and neutralized in snowy Kishtwar during "Operation Trashi-I."
Both missions involved joint teams from the Army, J&K Police, and CRPF.
'Operation Kiya' and 'Operation Trashi-I' in focus
"Operation Kiya" kicked off after intel about militants hiding out in Jophar Forest.
A fierce gunfight pushed the injured terrorists into a cave, leading to an overnight standoff with drones and dog squads keeping watch.
By the following morning, security forces stormed the cave using rocket-propelled grenades—recovering weapons at the site and confirming two kills.
Later that evening, another terrorist was found and taken down in Chatroo despite heavy snowfall.
These swift actions highlight ongoing efforts to keep the region safer.
