5 boys locked, beaten, threatened after being suspected of theft
In Gurugram's DLF Phase 3, five boys aged 11 to 14 were allegedly sexually assaulted and tortured by a contractor and four workers after being suspected of theft at an under-construction building.
The boys were locked up for 18 hours, stripped, beaten, doused with petrol, and threatened.
The accused contractor and one worker have been arrested; three others are still missing.
Boys are getting counseling
The ordeal ended when three mothers tracked down their sons' location after hours of searching and stayed with them until they were released that night.
Police registered an FIR under section 10 (aggravated sexual assault) of the Protection of Children of Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) and under sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
No evidence of theft was found.
The victims are now getting counseling, while a judicial magistrate will record their statements soon.
