AAP MLA accused of rape, cheating, flees to Australia

Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra, an AAP legislator from Punjab, has left India for Australia after being accused of rape, cheating, and criminal intimidation by a woman who says he hid his first marriage and sexually exploited her.
When police tried to arrest him at a relative's house in Haryana, police claimed his supporters blocked them with gunfire and stone-pelting, helping him escape.

Pathanmajra calls case a political conspiracy

A Patiala court has denied Pathanmajra bail and ordered him to appear by November 12 or risk being labeled a proclaimed offender.
From Australia, he released a video denying all charges and calling the case a political conspiracy.
The Punjab government has pulled his security and official housing while authorities continue searching for him.
