In response, aviation authorities have started inspecting all of Air India's Boeing 787s—so far, nine out of 33 have been checked and more inspections might cause flight delays.
Families of victims and the lone survivor are set to receive interim compensation of ₹25 lakh each, on top of ₹1 crore already announced by Tata Sons.
Air India says it's deeply sorry for the loss and is fully cooperating with the investigation.
