Air India crash investigation focuses on recently replaced engine

After the tragic Air India flight AI 171 crash on June 12, investigators are focusing on the plane's right-side engine, which was overhauled just three months before the accident.
The Boeing 787-8 went down shortly after leaving Ahmedabad, resulting in nearly 270 lives lost—India's worst air disaster in over a decade.
Only one passenger, a British national, survived.

Aviation authorities inspecting all of Air India's Boeing 787s

In response, aviation authorities have started inspecting all of Air India's Boeing 787s—so far, nine out of 33 have been checked and more inspections might cause flight delays.
Families of victims and the lone survivor are set to receive interim compensation of ₹25 lakh each, on top of ₹1 crore already announced by Tata Sons.
Air India says it's deeply sorry for the loss and is fully cooperating with the investigation.
