Air India terminates crew over misconduct allegations
Air India says two senior flight attendants were fired for misconduct—not for flagging a technical issue—after an emergency slide accidentally deployed on a Mumbai-London flight last year.
The ex-crew members insisted the slide went off even though the door was set to manual, but Air India disagrees.
What did Air India say?
According to Air India, their internal review showed the slide could only deploy if the door was armed, and they backed this up with data and expert input.
The airline said the crew had several chances to clarify their statements but stuck to claims that didn't match the evidence.
Air India also expressed regret that this incident is being used to spread what they call false claims, especially in light of recent safety concerns after a tragic crash in Ahmedabad.
