Sadly, nine people lost their lives and at least 15 were injured. Police confirmed it was an accident—not a stampede.

CM Naidu slams temple authorities, Modi announces financial help

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu called out temple authorities for not alerting police about the unusually huge crowd—something he believes could have prevented this tragedy.
The temple usually sees just a few thousand visitors but was packed far beyond normal this time.
One person has been arrested for culpable homicide.
Prime Minister Modi shared his condolences and announced financial help: ₹2 lakh for each victim's family and ₹50,000 for those injured.
