Assam headmistress Manisha Khetrapal to receive National Teachers's Award 2026
Manisha Khetrapal, headmistress at PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya, NFR Rangiya, Assam, will be awarded the National Teachers's Award 2026.
She is recognized for her standout work bringing the National Education Policy 2020 (NEP) to life, especially for young learners in their early school years.
Khetrapal launched Project DivyaMitra with ALIMCO
Before this role, Khetrapal spent eight years at IIT Guwahati's Kendriya Vidyalaya, where she started Project DivyaMitra as a step toward meaningful inclusion, in collaboration with Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO), and was a key resource person of EduLead to train 382 principals and head teachers of PM SHRI schools across Assam.
She is also big on giving students new experiences (visiting the India International Science Festival at IIT Guwahati and facilitating a visit of delegates from The Japan Foundation) and has a Ph.D. focused on inclusive education.
