Bengaluru airport bans kerbside pick-ups by Rapido, Namma Yatri

India

Kempegowda International Airport just changed the rules—Rapido, Namma Yatri, Shoffr, and similar services can no longer pick you up right at the curb.
Instead, you'll have to walk to special parking zones at Terminals 1 and 2.
This also affects rides arranged by travel agents and hotels, as well as drivers offering non-surge fares.

What this means for travelers and drivers

The move has frustrated many passengers, especially those carrying luggage or traveling with seniors, since only authorized operators—KSTDC, Mega, Uber, Uber Black, Ola, Quick Ride, OHM Electric Cabs, and WTI—are allowed curbside access now.
Meanwhile, independent drivers aren't happy either—the Karnataka Drivers's Union staged protests near Sadahalli gate toll plaza and warned of more if things don't change.
To help out a bit, the airport is running shuttles and providing buggies for easier access from parking areas.
