India
Big news for PG medical students in Bihar: the government has bumped up their monthly stipends starting January 2026.
This move recognizes how much these students contribute to hospitals and patient care and aims to make medical education more appealing by offering better financial support.
Bihar PG stipends ₹92,800 ₹102,000 ₹112,200
First-year PG students will now get ₹92,800 a month (up from ₹82,000).
Second-years see their stipend rise to ₹102,000 (from ₹90,200), and third-years will receive ₹112,200 (previously ₹99,220).
Health Minister Nishant Kumar says this boost is meant to help students focus on their work and attract more talent to Bihar's healthcare system.
