Boat carrying 25 capsizes in Bagmati river killing Gulshan Khatun

A boat carrying 25 people, mostly women heading to Belsand for farm work, capsized in the Bagmati River near Mahadeva village, Sheohar district on Friday around 10:15am.
Sadly, 30-year-old Gulshan Khatun lost her life.
The rest of the passengers were rescued thanks to quick action from locals and authorities.
Locals recover Gulshan Khatun's body
Rescue teams and local locals worked together for five hours to save everyone else and recover Khatun's body.
Officials say support will be given to her family after formalities are done.
The incident also highlights how people here rely on boats because there is no bridge, a reminder that better transport is needed to keep everyone safe.
