Bureau of Immigration ends boarding pass stamping at international airports
India
From September 1, 2026, you can skip the boarding pass stamping at all international airports in the country if you're flying internationally.
The Bureau of Immigration is rolling out this change to make the whole process smoother; just show your e-boarding pass at immigration and you're good to go.
Physical passes are still fine, too, but no more stamps are needed.
Change aims to reduce stamping errors
This update is all about making travel less of a hassle and cutting down on errors caused by incorrect stamping.
Foreigners Regional Registration Officer (FRRO) in Delhi Deepak Yadav shared that airports and security teams are getting ready for the switch as part of making the immigration clearance process more convenient for everyone heading abroad.
