Chandigarh Police just uncovered a massive money mystery: almost ₹96 crore disappeared from the municipal corporation's account, leaving behind just ₹81.20.
The main suspect? Nalini Malik, chief financial officer of the Smart City project, who is now being questioned to figure out what really happened.
Malik accused over ₹116cr fake FDRs
Malik is accused of teaming up with accountant Anubhav Mishra to fake 11 fixed deposit receipts worth over ₹116 crore and move more than ₹50 crore into cash.
The plot thickens since Mishra has been missing since February, making things even trickier for investigators.
