Cyber fraud reporting system saves ₹8,189cr from scams
India's Citizen Financial Cyber Fraud Reporting and Management System (CFCFRMS) has helped save over ₹8,189 crore from cyber scams since 2021.
With more than 23.6 lakh digital fraud complaints handled, the system's toll-free helpline (1930) was operationalised alongside the portal, and police authorities have reported that over 12 lakh SIM cards and 3 lakh device IDs linked to scams have been blocked.
Suspect registry has blocked transactions worth ₹9,055 crore
Cyber fraud cases have jumped sharply—now constituting a growing share of all cybercrimes reported in the country.
To tackle this, a Suspect Registry launched with banks in September 2024 blocked transactions worth ₹9,055 crore by flagging suspicious accounts.
The government has also boosted funding for cybersecurity projects, while new tools like the Samanvaya Platform have helped police make nearly 13,000 arrests and trace thousands of scam connections nationwide.
