Delhi launches air pollution plan 2026: No fuel without PUC
Delhi just rolled out its Air Pollution Mitigation Action Plan 2026, and it's all about getting serious on clean air.
The city is introducing a "No PUC, No Fuel" rule, meaning you can't get fuel without a valid pollution certificate, and from November, only cleaner goods vehicles (BS-VI, CNG, or electric) can enter the city.
Delhi adopts tech upgrades, 70L plantings
The plan brings in tech upgrades like GPS-tracked road sweepers, sprinklers, and anti-smog guns to keep pollution down.
There's also a push for smarter traffic management to cut congestion and emissions.
Plus, Delhi aims to plant 70 lakh trees, shrubs and bamboo in 2026-27, with a long-term goal of over one crore plantations across the city—all backed by dedicated budgets and stricter enforcement.
As Chief Minister Rekha Gupta put it, these steps show Delhi's real commitment to cleaner air for everyone.
